About Warrington
Islamic Association

Serving the Muslim community of Warrington for nearly five decades — a place of prayer, learning, and community for all.

Our Story

Nearly 50 Years of Community Service

Warrington Islamic Association (WIA) was founded in 1976 by a group of dedicated Muslim families who recognised the need for a formal place of worship and community gathering for the growing Muslim population in Warrington.

Starting from humble beginnings, the association grew steadily over the decades. Our current centre on Lockton Lane, Bewsey has served as the spiritual and social hub of the local Muslim community, providing a full range of Islamic services and welfare support.

Today, WIA is one of the most established Islamic centres in the North West of England, welcoming thousands of Muslims every year for prayer, education, marriages, funerals, and community events. We are proud to serve Muslims and non-Muslims alike and maintain strong links with the wider Warrington community.

Our Mission

To serve Allah (SWT) by serving His creation — providing a welcoming, inclusive, and spiritually enriching environment for Muslims in Warrington, while building bridges of understanding with the wider community.

Registered Charity

WIA is a registered charity, governed by a voluntary committee of trustees elected from the community. All donations go directly towards the running and development of the masjid and its services. Charity No: Insert Charity Number.

Community & Inclusion

We serve the entire community — Muslims and non-Muslims. Our doors are open to anyone seeking to understand Islam or access our welfare services.
