2025 will mark the 80th anniversaries of VE Day and VJ Day on 8 May and 15 August respectively. It is an opportunity for the nation to come together to honour and pay tribute to the Second World War generation from across the UK and Commonwealth, through a series of national and local events and activities.

Join us in Chester, UK on 8th May for a VE Day 80th Anniversary celebration around the City Hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of Chester:

5.30pm – A Service of Thanksgiving at Chester Cathedral

8.30pm – Concert at Chester Town Hall Square, Northgate Street, Chester

9.30pm – Lighting of the Beacon of Peace outside Chester Town Hall
