Young members of the Queens Own Yeomanry undertook Life Support Training this month. Exercise Serpent Fox delivered face to face and taught training using both lectures and hands-on practical training.

Each session covered the recognition of symptoms, the theory and practical treatment of babies, young children and adults. Certificates were awarded for Paediatric and Adult Intermediate Life Support.

Paediatric sessions included circulatory & respiratory assessments comparing standard adult behaviours with babies, infants and children, airway management (including adjuncts) and basic life support.

Adult sessions included acute medical emergencies, e.g. Intercranial Pressure & Cardiac Tamponade (Triads) and team working approaches to resuscitation.

Everyone performed well as individuals and part of varying teams.
