Local businessmen Rick Nieto stepped up to the mark after Rick attended the launch of Cheshire Military Museum’s latest special exhibition ‘Purple Poppies’ in November. He wanted to do something for the museum to preserve what he sees as an undervalued asset in the City.
Rick Nieto said; “At City Framers and Style Joinery we are all about ‘doing the right thing’, values I’ve used in my businesses and throughout life. Style Joinery, which makes and installs fitted furniture for kitchens and homes, has been going for 45 years and City Framers, for 35. I have lived in Chester all my life and wanted to give something back as we do with small local businesses and young people, and this is an ideal opportunity to do this.”
Mike Huntriss, Vice Chair of Friends of Cheshire Military Museum, during a tour of Style Joinery in Saltney said; “A massive thank you to Rick for this support and sponsorship of Cheshire Military Museum without which one of the city’s hidden gems could not continue to tell the story of our servicemen and women to future generations.”
He added; “The county of Cheshire and the city of Chester have a long and distinguished military history dating back to Roman times. Chester Castle is the home of the Cheshire Military Museum which tells not only the story of this to visitors, many from overseas, but also provides a community hub for veterans, some of which volunteer their services, co-locates with the Army Cadet Force and also provides an educational and outreach provision in partnership with local schools.”
